Unpacking, moving on.
The moving-out process was daunting to say the least. The 80 degree weather combined with everyone moving out at the same time made things a little, or a lot, stressful. It was hard to find a laundry cart, ad half my stuff fell of the cart that I did use. Luckily, I had my parents to help the process. I would recommend that you try to move out before the last day of finals week. With some finals, it may not be an option to leave before then, but it is a lot easier on Wednesday or Thursday. We made several trips to a storage shed and then we were good to go. Our storage shed, however, is SUPER full with furniture for our apartment.
And then I forgot that I would have to move back IN my house. Thus, I got rid of a whole bunch of stuff in my room (I hadn’t done that in several years) to make room for my college stuff. It took the entire weekend to move back into my house. It made me think that I had way too much stuff. However, it does feel good to be home. I now have an entire summer to relax (and work a lot) at home.
My summer plans include working at a local restaurant and taking a couple of summer classes. It will be busy, but hopefully I can get a few credits out of the way as well as make a bit of money. Let me hear about what you are doing this summer before college. What are you all up to?

Our shed has absolutely NO room left in it. It is stacked floor to ceiling very carefully. I had a brief stint where I was freaking out about having to move it all into the apartment, but then I remembered that my parents will be there to help move everything, so no biggie. Those first couple days, though, are going to suck hardcore.
As to the summer, I hope you don’t kill yourself with a gigantic workload and then stress about it, as I know you are apt to do. Take some time to breathe and remember that you’re only young once. Work when you’re old. I was listening to some Wakarusa bands today. I’m making a list of the good and the bad. 2 1/2 weeks! I’m sure it’s going to be incredibly fun!

In what area of journalism are you majoring in? I am a senior in highschool (very interested in Broadcast Journalism) and am wondering about your opinions on Mizzou’s Broadcasting Department.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, but I was on vacation. I am a Convergence Major which is using the internet to connect all the forms of media. Thus I get to work and learn about broadcast, online, and print media. The broadcast department at Mizzou is excellent! They have their own NBC affiliate that students train on. This is very impressive and I believe that we are the only school to do so. There is also MUTV which some students participate in to get more hands-on experience. It is all about gaining experience which the “Missouri Method” teaches you.
Hope this helps. If you have any other questions or any other topics you would like to know about, please let me know!!
